The Brigid's Cross has been an important part of Irish and Gaelic culture for generations. The cross also provided protection to the household from fire and other dangers, as well as blessing the thrashing grains, sheep and cattle.

She is in the first flame, and seed about to burst forth, she is connected to both elements of fire and water, (hence the water reeds the crosses are traditionally made with).

She is also a generous and caring goddess who was a shepherdess of sheep. She is connected with kindness, charity, compassion and community. Something we call can use more of in these difficult times.
