The Natural Collection – Arenga Wing Whisk

I have long wanted to make small, handy brooms that are softer, finer than what I can create with broomcorn. Having gotten Tampico fibre the first time back in 2021 and experimenting with it over the years, I have found it’s ideal for making smaller brooms and brushes. Tampico is the fibre from the Agave lechuguilla plant from Mexico. It’s a strong, fine fibre often used in paint and scrub brushes. I tied these with a cafe coloured waxed linen cord, with a brown suede leather hanging loop. All natural, biodegradable materials. In a small whisk form, this Tampico whisk is perfect to have on your desk to sweep crumbs from your afternoon tea and cookie. Or keep in your glove box, camping kit, luggage or your kitchen counter. Here’s another great thing about this brush, it’s great for brushing pet fur off your clothes! Arenga fibre comes from Arenga pinnata, a type of sugar palm which is a multipurpose palm species from Asia which a variety of foods and beverages, timber commodities, biofibres, biopolymers and biocomposites can be produced. These fibres are stiffer and can be used on more durable surfaces like work benches, carpets, concrete, wood, and wonderfully handy on a potting bench. These brushes are both fully biodegradable, and amazing additions to the cleaning arsenal of any earth conscious individual. Small but mighty!
