So, who’s Mo? Well, that was the nickname for my mother in law, Maureen.
This blend took me a while to find as I wanted to make sure it was not only organic, but a really good tea! Because after all, it was her favourite, so I honour her memory by naming this beautiful tea after her. I hope you enjoy it as much as she did.
Mo’s Cherry and Rose Green Tea is an organic loose leaf green tea that's delightfully smooth with excellent depth and body. The natural cherry flavoring and subtle rose hints do not overpower, but instead suggests the exotic nature of this loose tea.
This blend was created for the famed Cherry Blossom Spring Festival, and is reminiscent of that time of year when people feel great happiness, joy and hope, and that the deepest parts of winter are left far behind. In Kyoto the spring festival represents ‘the spirit of the season’ which is fitting since Kyoto is the cultural centre for Japan. This tea speaks to this special time of year and shows it great respect to, and honours the well being of all humans. Like the festival, the leaves harvested for this beautiful tea are done during a specific time period between mid March to mid April when the new tea leaves are at their peak flavour after a long winter dormancy and then processed in the Japanese Sencha style.
Mild yet flavorful, my Mo’s Cherry & Rose is an excellent green tea. The delicate cherry and rose aromas moderate the green characteristics providing a surprisingly pleasant tea sure to please the most ardent green tea ‘hater’!
Organic Ingredients: Chinese Green Tea processed in Sencha style, rose petals and natural cherry flavour.
Directions: cooled boiled water (5 minute cool down) poured over 1 teaspoon of tea, steep 1-3 mins. Enjoy plain or with sweetener of your choice. Can be rebrewed up to 3 times. Also very nice iced or cold brewed.
