Introduction to Broomcraft
The first on demand class is a two part class. The first lesson will include 2 videos showing the aspiring broom maker the tools used in broomcraft, and what other resources they will need. The second lesson will take you to the two broom making videos teaching you the techniques to craft 3 kitchen tools and then a triple style broom. These two videos will be imperative in the aspiring broom maker to move onto making other brooms which will be added to the course curriculum regularly over time.

Your On Demand Class purchase will include:
Access to pre-recorded demo videos which will be available when you purchase and enroll in the class. After you set up your account in the TAOTAT learning platform, you will have unlimited access to the videos and resources provided. It is highly recommended to view all the videos in their entirety first, before you get started, then gather your materials and begin.
While watching the videos you will be able to pause and restart so you can keep up with the lesson, or to view a step again. As always, you can send me an email to info@taotat.ca with any questions, and of course, send pictures of your finished brooms. If you’re so inclined, and you post to social media, please tag @taotat so I can see your beautiful work!
Materials you will need (which are not included in your on demand course purchase):
If you are NOT ordering a kit, you’ll need to acquire the following:
- 1lb, or 500g of 16” broomcorn
- 30 yards of cord, 1.5 – 2 mm thickness, nylon cord.
- 1 inch thick, and 12-16 inch long dowel to use as your foot brake
After purchasing the course through the link at the lower right on the Course page and creating an account at checkout, you can return to the Course page, and click the ‘Enroll’ button. You will then receive an email with more important information and links for ordering a kit if needed.
(You will need an account/profile for the course – you can create one at checkout (recommended), or if you checkout as a guest, you will receive an email with order id information, and instructions to create an account.)

PURCHASING MATERIALS KITS IN or OUTSIDE OF CANADA – You can purchase a kit from one of the broommakers below in your country if required. This will be a separate transaction with the Broom Makers in the International Broom Makers Collective who I have collaborated with so you can get started on your path into the world of Broomcrafting.
